In Luganda, the language most commonly used in East African Uganda, "Esuubi" means hope. Giving people hope for a better future and thereby motivating them to escape poverty is the goal of ESUUBI.

The ESUUBI association was founded to support projects and initiatives in East Africa - mainly in the areas of education and social welfare.
